I saw this in the mid seventies. Wonderful movie! There was a sequel, of sorts, called "The Making of Fitzcarraldo" describing the difficulties of doing all this in the days before computer animation. And to top it all off, it's based on real characters and events!
that movie makes me crazy, love it so
