What follows is not an advertisement, at least not in the conventional sense. I haven't suddenly become sponsored by Ikea.
An old studio buddy from RISD is attempting to put together a comprehensive book of drawings in the visual style of Ikea's instructional images that follows the production of the ubiquitous LACK coffee table from the forests of Poland or China to your living room.
I can say that having seen Andrew's drawings, this will be no ordinary book. He is by far one of the most skilled draftsman I've encountered, and has the ability to elevate the banal to the extraordinary.
I wholeheartedly endorse this project, and wish I had a larger wallet to make it happen. You should read more about it here.
